Job Summary

As a senior accountant, you will drive financial excellence by leveraging your extensive experience in US non-profit accounting.

This part-time position requires a strong foundation in financial reporting, close processes, audits, and compliance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure the integrity of accounting information by recording, verifying, consolidating, and entering transactions accurately and efficiently.
  • Prepare and record asset, liability, revenue, and expenses entries by compiling and analyzing account information from various sources.
  • Maintain the general ledger by transferring subsidiary accounts, preparing a trial balance, and reconciling entries for accuracy and completeness.
  • Summarize financial status by collecting information and preparing balance sheet, profit and loss, and other statements as required.
  • Perform monthly, quarterly, and annual close responsibilities and ensure team members stay on track during close periods.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams across the organization to optimize processes and efficiency.
  • Ensure deadlines and controls are met in accordance with policies and procedures.
  • Manage proper deliverables to external auditors on annual audits and quarterly reviews.
  • Lead internal audit engagements and complete external audit requirements by analyzing and scheduling general ledger accounts and providing information for auditors.
  • Avoid legal challenges by complying with legal requirements and regulations.
  • Secure financial information by completing database backups and protecting sensitive data.
  • Protect the organization's financial information by maintaining confidentiality and adhering to security protocols.
  • Assist with month-end close and other projects as needed, demonstrating adaptability and flexibility.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree and more than seven years of experience in finance or accounting or a related area.
  • Extensive experience in US non-profit accounting including reporting and compliance (tax).
  • Knowledge of U.S. GAAP and/or IFRS.
  • Certified Public Accountant is a plus.
  • Experience in a Big 4 firm is a plus.
  • Strong MS Excel skills.
  • Experience developing financial reports and metrics.
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to interact with various management levels.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and adapt to a changing, fast-paced environment.
  • Strong Excel, Word, and PowerPoint skills.
  • Superior attention to detail and ability to manage multiple competing priorities while maintaining the big picture.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence others through effective verbal and written communication.
  • Demonstrated ability to drive projects across an organization.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.

  • Computer Processor: Intel 8th generation or newer/AMD Ryzen 2000 series or newer.
  • Computer Memory/RAM: At least 16.00 GB for both primary and back-up computers.
  • Computer OS: Windows 11 and future enterprise operating systems.
  • Storage: 500 GB SSD.
  • With licensed MS Office and extra monitor.
  • Internet speed must be 20+ Mbps wired (at least 10 Mbps for back-up connection).
