Key Responsibilities:
  • Review and analyze refund and overpayment requests from insurance payers to identify potential issues and discrepancies.
  • Work closely with other revenue cycle departments to resolve credit balances and improve efficiency.
  • Develop and maintain expertise with payer-specific payment policies and procedures.
  • Collaborate with clinical areas and the payer community to resolve refund and overpayment issues.
  • Ensure accurate and timely posting of debits for approved refunds.
  • Research and resolve returned checks and collaborate with A/P for reporting to unclaimed property.
  • Develop and maintain expertise with insurance collection guidelines and corporate policy and procedure.
