Job Title: Financial Operations Specialist

Overview:

  • This role involves performing full-cycle accounting for a portfolio of clients, including maintaining accounting system records, preparing journal entries, analyzing financial reports, and documenting activities through reconciliations and work papers.
  • Strong organizational, oral and written communication skills are required to manage multiple competing priorities and maintain top quality customer service standards.

Responsibilities:

Financial Operations
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date accounting records for clients, including bank, credit card, and payroll accounts, as well as other accounting-related functions as requested by clients.
  • Prepare monthly and quarterly financial statements with supporting reconciliations, and conduct month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing tasks, including annual filings for 1099s and other miscellaneous filings as needed.
  • Communicate open items or anomalies to the manager and follow up to ensure items are fully resolved.
  • Produce ad-hoc reports for clients and/or management upon request, and assist with other special accounting projects as needed.
Qualifications and Skills
  • A bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field is preferred. A Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation is highly preferred.
  • At least 5 years of accounting experience, with at least 3+ years of progressive experience performing full charge bookkeeping.
  • Experience with QuickBooks and related software tools, as well as strong computer aptitude, including Microsoft Excel and Word.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects and deadlines, with strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
