The Finance and Accounting Supervisor is responsible for overseeing general accounting, management and financial reporting, tax review, disbursements and collections oversight, cash position monitoring, placements, loans management, and bank coordination. This role supervises specialists and associates to ensure accurate and timely closing, compliance with tax and statutory requirements, and effective treasury operations, excluding direct responsibility for bank reconciliations (reviewed by the Finance & Accounting Manager). Additionally, the Supervisor drives continuous improvement, ensures cross-functional collaboration, and supports staff development and succession planning.

Key Responsibilities:

  • General Accounting and Tax Review: Reviews journal entries, reconciliations, and tax filings to ensure timely and accurate closing and full compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Tax Planning & Strategy Support: Assists management in assessing tax exposures, preparing tax planning analyses, and coordinating with advisors to support effective tax strategies.
  • Management & Financial Reporting: Prepares and reviews management and financial reports, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and compliance with standards.
  • Treasury Oversight: Reviews and monitors cash balances, forecasts, placements, and loan obligations; ensures compliance with loan covenants and proper documentation of borrowings and investments.
  • Bank Coordination: Manages relationships and transactions with banks, including deposits, withdrawals, loan documentation, placements, and reconciliations.
  • Staff Supervision & Development: Supervises accounting staff, ensures task completion, and supports capability development.
  • Compliance and Internal Controls: Ensure adherence to internal control standards, audit requirements, and company policies in general accounting, financial reporting and treasury activities.
  • ERP and Process Improvement: Support system implementation and adoption (e.g. SAPB1), automation initiatives and enhance efficiency in financial systems.
  • Cross-functional Collaboration: Coordinates with other departments (Operations, HR, Procurement, etc.) to ensure smooth financial processes, compliance, and alignment with business goals.
  • Adhoc Support: Collaborate with the Chief Finance Officer on strategic initiatives, compliance projects, and process improvements.

Experience:

a. Minimum of 5 years progressive experience in accounting, tax, and financial reporting, with exposure to treasury operations, financial analysis, and management reporting.

b. Proficiency in ERP systems (SAP or equivalent) and strong skills in MS Office applications, particularly Excel.

c. Supervisory or team lead experience preferred, with proven ability to coach and develop staff.
