Senior SMSF Accountant Job Description

A senior accountant is required to manage and process Australian self-managed superannuation funds (SMSFs).

  • We seek a highly skilled and motivated individual with at least 2+ years' experience working on Australian SMSFs.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Process and manage accounting and compliance tasks for SMSF clients within our platform.
  2. Prepare financial statements, tax returns, and regulatory documents for SMSF clients.
  3. Perform bank reconciliations, investment reconciliations, and member statements.
  4. Ensure all work is compliant with ATO and Superannuation Industry requirements.
  5. Communicate effectively with clients, team members, and other stakeholders as needed.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 2+ years' experience working with SMSFs in Australia.
  • Strong knowledge of our accounting software.
  • High level of proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving ability.

Desirable Skills:

  • Experience with Xero.
  • Relevant tertiary qualification in Accounting or a related discipline.
  • Working towards or completion of CA/CPA/IPA or SMSF specialist accreditation.
