Job Summary: The Procurement Supervisor is responsible for performing procurement duties for utilized items stored in central supply, including materials, equipment, and office supplies. This role involves coordinating with department representatives and vendors/suppliers to ensure the appropriateness and cost-effectiveness of purchases and resolving problems/concerns.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Procurement Duties: Prepare formal and informal bids involving technical and complex specifications, evaluate bids according to current guidelines, and communicate with vendors regarding bid status and contract compliance.
  • Inventory Management: Coordinate with departments and various vendors concerning product needed, interview vendors regarding price, product applicability, service quality, and related issues, and expedite overdue or delayed orders.
  • Purchase Orders and Requisitions: Receive and verify requisitions for various materials, equipment, and services, and determine the appropriate method of purchase, preparing and processing purchase orders and related reports.
  • Inventory Review and Reorder: Review inventory listings and identify items to be recorded based on specified reorder points, past usage rates, shelf life of items, satisfaction with items, and place orders according to established practice.
  • Special Cost Studies: Assist in preparing special cost studies as required by management.
  • Additional Duties: Perform additional duties as requested by the General Manager.

Requirements:

  • Education: College graduate with a degree in Management/Accounting or related courses.
  • Experience: At least five (05) years of related experience.
  • Skills: Basic knowledge of procurement methods and procedures, valid driver's license, and demonstrated communication and organizational skills.
