Job Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled and creative Social Media Storyteller to produce engaging news-focused content for various social media platforms. The ideal candidate will have excellent research skills, strong attention to detail, and the ability to craft compelling narratives that resonate with online audiences.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement a content strategy that aligns with our brand's tone and mission.
  • Produce high-quality, engaging video content across TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, and YouTube, including short news recaps, stitched videos, explainers, fact-checks, and commentary.
  • Stay up-to-date with social media trends and viral content formats to ensure our content remains relevant and competitive.
  • Collaborate with the editorial team to align content with our brand's voice and vision.
  • Monitor video performance metrics to refine our content strategy and improve engagement.

Requirements:

  • Diploma or degree in Mass Communications, Journalism, Media Studies, or related field is an advantage.
  • Prior experience in content creation, social media management, or digital journalism is preferred.
  • Familiarity with social media platforms, their audiences, and content trends (TikTok, Instagram Reels, YouTube Shorts, Facebook).
  • Proficiency in video editing and design software (Capcut, Canva, or equivalent)
  • Ability to research and analyze news and factual information, with strong skills in fact-checking and distilling insights into clear, audience-friendly stories.
  • Comfortable crafting concise, impactful narratives that bring news and facts to life in social-first video formats.
  • Keen sense of storytelling, pacing, and visual composition with interest in current affairs, news, and social issues.
  • Creative thinker with a strong sense of what resonates with digital audiences.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills to manage multiple projects under tight deadlines.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with creative teams.
