Secure OT Platform Solutions Engineer

We are seeking a skilled engineer to join our team and design implement secure solutions for OT platforms.

Responsibilities
  • Implement and maintain OpenShift clusters in on-prem production environments, ensuring seamless integration with existing systems.
  • Design secure tunneling solutions for deployment instructions between network levels, adhering to industry standards.
  • Establish air gap transfer strategies for code and artifacts, maintaining data integrity.
  • Implement Humanitec with ArgoCD for GitOps-style deployments, while considering on-prem networking constraints.
  • Create staging environments that accurately mirror production on-prem systems in AWS, enabling efficient testing.
  • Collaborate with cybersecurity teams to implement defense-in-depth strategies, enhancing overall security.
  • Establish robust change management processes for on-prem deployments, minimizing risks.
  • Design backup and disaster recovery strategies appropriate for each Purdue Model level, ensuring business continuity.
Qualifications
  • Must-have skills and experience:
  • Strong background in air-gapped and segmented network architectures, ensuring secure data transmission.
  • Experience with secure artifact management (JFrog Artifactory preferred), maintaining software integrity.
  • Understanding of on-prem limitations (disconnected, latency, bandwidth constraints), optimizing system performance.
  • Experience with manual deployment processes and change control, ensuring consistency.
  • Familiarity with vSphere and on-premises virtualization, managing complex infrastructure.
  • Desirable skills and experience:
  • Understanding of the Purdue Model and ISA-95 standards, ensuring compliance.
  • Experience with mining or heavy industry operational environments, adapting to unique challenges.
  • Experience with industrial control systems and SCADA environments, managing critical infrastructure.
  • Knowledge of redundant system design for high availability, ensuring uptime.
  • Understanding of industrial protocols (OPC, Modbus, etc.), integrating with existing systems.
  • Experience with staging/production environment separation in OT, maintaining isolation.
  • Knowledge of industrial cybersecurity frameworks (IEC 62443), enforcing security best practices.
  • Knowledge of OT-specific security requirements and compliance standards, ensuring regulatory adherence.
  • Container Platforms: OpenShift (On-prem) and EKS (AWS), leveraging cloud capabilities.
  • Infrastructure: On-premises VMware vSphere, Docker Swarm, managing diverse environments.
  • Source Control: GitHub with secure synchronization, version controlling software.
  • Monitoring: Industrial-grade observability tools, providing real-time insights.
  • Security: Air gap solutions, secure tunneling, RBAC, enforcing strict access controls.

This is a mid-senior level position, requiring a strong background in OT platform engineering, with experience in designing and implementing secure solutions. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of air-gapped and segmented network architectures, secure artifact management, and industrial control systems.
