Chief Financial Officer Job Description

The Chief Financial Officer will lead our organization's financial operations and drive the development of a comprehensive long-term financial strategy. As a key member of the executive leadership team, the CFO will play a vital role in shaping the company's financial vision and supporting sustainable business growth.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Direct all aspects of the company's financial operations, including accounting, budgeting, forecasting, analysis, and treasury management.
  • Develop and implement financial strategies aligned with organizational objectives.
  • Provide timely and accurate financial reporting to senior management and the board of directors.
  • Manage cash flow, capital structure, and financing strategies to support business operations and expansion initiatives.
  • Oversee financial audits, tax filings, and compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
  • Assess financial risks and opportunities, and provide guidance on cost reduction and profitability improvement.
  • Establish Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and performance metrics to monitor financial health and support data-driven decision-making.
  • Lead and mentor the finance and accounting team, fostering a culture of accountability and excellence.
  • Partner with other executives on strategic initiatives such as mergers and acquisitions, fundraising, and corporate development.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (MBA or CPA preferred).
  • 8-10+ years of progressive finance leadership experience, preferably including time as a CFO or VP of Finance.
  • Deep understanding of corporate financial law, accounting principles (GAAP/IFRS), and financial modeling techniques.
  • Proven experience in strategic financial planning, budgeting, and risk management.
  • Exceptional analytical, leadership, and communication skills.
  • Experience with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems and financial software (e.g., NetSuite, SAP, QuickBooks).
