Financial Operations Specialist

The primary goal of this role is to ensure accurate and timely financial record-keeping, transaction processing, and reporting.

This position requires a high level of organizational skill, with the ability to manage multiple clients and tasks simultaneously. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, and be able to work independently in an autonomous environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Create or maintain records of financial transactions using various accounting systems
  • Process invoicing and accounts receivable, ensuring timely payments and accurate reconciliations
  • Manage payroll through a payroll service, including preparation of pay stubs and tax returns
  • Reconcile sub-ledger to general ledger account balances, verify allocations, and post details of business transactions to the accounting system
  • Provide support for audits by external entities, prepare supporting schedules, gather information, and provide analysis as requested
  • Compile reports to show statistics, such as cash receipts and expenditures, accounts payable and receivable, profit and loss, and other items pertinent to the operation of the business
  • Report against metrics/budgets, and perform payroll and payroll tax-related returns
  • Prepare a balance sheet, profit, and loss statement, and other reports to summarize the current and projected company financial position
Qualifications:
  • A Bachelor's degree in the related field is preferred
  • 5+ years of full charge bookkeeper/staff accountant experience, including account reconciliation and work paper preparation
  • Experience with QuickBooks Online is required
  • Intermediate Excel skills and strong organization skills are essential
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to function in an autonomous environment
