Job Description

We are seeking a highly experienced Financial Services Team Lead to join our Finance Asia Group Accounting team in Asia. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the execution of accounting and delivering comprehensive financial reporting for management, regulatory bodies, and for statutory purposes across 10 geographical locations in Asia, Australia, and the Middle East.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage team's timely and accurate completion of accounting closing activities (monthly, quarterly, annually) including review of accounting reports submission
  • Oversee team's interim and year-end audit in accordance with local GAAP / IFRS
  • Oversee team's recurring tax-related submissions coordination with Group Tax team and service providers
  • Oversee team's preparation and presentation of financial figures in relatable format and content according to stakeholders' needs (Local board of directors and various Group internal committees)
  • Oversee team's compliance with regulatory requirements for assigned group entities
  • Oversee team's Finance service catalogue items including standard application and recurring process review and improvements
  • Review relevant internal control system for further process improvement, lead and/or delegate related technological and/or process initiatives to completion
  • Independently drive collaboration with direct stakeholders (internal and external of Group Finance) for problem-solving and process improvement
  • Define local finance team performance measurement in collaboration with Cell leader and ensure implementation
  • Steer local finance team's direction according to department goals, set priorities to action/deliverables for short-term and medium-term
Requirements

To be considered for this role, you must have:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accountancy, CPA or other relevant accounting professional qualifications
  • Working experience of at least 10+ years in similar position
  • Preferably has 2-3 years of experience in external audit with Big 4 firms
  • Preferably has at least 5 years of experience managing a team of 2-3 people or more
  • Reliable and trustworthy individual with good analytical skills and ability to pay excellent attention to detail and adhere to strict deadlines
  • Self-motivated and proactive individual who thrives in demanding environment
  • High adaptability in growing and changing environment
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to collaborate with different teams/departments and effectively communicate (mainly in English) with both internal and external stakeholders
  • Experience in a shared services environment and using ERP systems (SAP) is a must
  • Experience in independently leading process improvement (e.g. via Lean principles) is preferable
  • Experience working in global environment would be a plus
  • Comfortable working as an individual contributor
