Job Title: Debt Collection Specialist

About the Role:

This is a challenging and rewarding opportunity to join our team as a Debt Collection Specialist. We are seeking an experienced professional who can effectively communicate with customers, negotiate payment plans, and work collaboratively with internal stakeholders.

In this role, you will be responsible for collecting debts from consumers and businesses, managing a portfolio of accounts, and maintaining accurate records. You will also need to develop and implement effective strategies to recover outstanding balances while preserving customer relationships.

We are looking for someone with excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently. If you have experience in debt collection, a strong work ethic, and a passion for delivering results, we want to hear from you

Key Responsibilities:
  • Collecting Debts: Negotiate with customers to agree on payment plans, manage a portfolio of accounts, and maintain accurate records.
  • Portfolio Management: Prioritize accounts by age, balance, risk, and dispute status, and develop strategies to recover outstanding balances.
  • Customer Communication: Effectively communicate with customers, respond to inquiries, and resolve disputes in a timely and professional manner.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Experience: At least 4 years of experience in debt collection, preferably within eCommerce, logistics, delivery, or utilities/telecoms/fin-services.
  • Skills: Persuasive negotiation, tact, and resilience; de-escalation mastery; process-driven; data-literate.
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, such as business administration, finance, or accounting.

Other Information:
  • Work Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am to 5pm (GMT).
  • Holidays: 15 days holiday per year.
  • Contract Status: You work as a contractor and are responsible for your own tax.
