This role is about designing, developing, and maintaining high-performance backend systems and APIs built for speed and growth.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and implement scalable backend architectures that power real-time geospatial platforms.
  • Burnish our public-facing APIs with secure, reliable, and efficient design.
  • Owning CI/CD pipelines to ensure seamless continuous integration and deployment.
  • Implementing best-in-class monitoring and observability to inform data-driven decisions.
  • Collaborating with frontend developers, product teams, and stakeholders to align backend architecture with business goals.
  • Unlocking advanced SQL and geospatial data management capabilities with PostgreSQL and PostGIS.
  • Leveraging AWS services like API Gateway, Lambda, and Serverless frameworks to deploy solutions.
  • Supporting microservices-based architectures and event-driven workflows with webhooks.
  • Driving projects forward with agile methodologies and best practices.
Requirements
  • 5+ years of backend development experience, building and scaling public-facing APIs.
  • Python coding skills, with solid experience in Flask or FastAPI.
  • Highly skilled in SQL and PostgreSQL, and ideally PostGIS for geospatial data.
  • Experience with spatial mapping tools (like Mapbox) or GIS concepts.
  • Design RESTful APIs that are secure, scalable, and built for performance.
  • AWS environment expertise, including API Gateway, Lambda, and Serverless.
  • Microservices and event-driven workflows knowledge, including webhooks.
  • Observability expertise, with real-world experience using Datadog, New Relic, or similar.
  • CI/CD pipeline building skills.
  • Agile mindset and collaboration skills.
