Construction Project Leader

Job Summary:

The Construction Project Leader oversees daily construction activities, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time and within specifications. This role requires strong technical knowledge, leadership and coordination skills to manage all aspects of project construction management.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as the primary lead on the construction site, overseeing daily operations and ensuring compliance with project plans, safety standards and quality requirements.
  • Manage project schedules, resources and budgets to meet project deliverables and milestones.
  • Coordinate and supervise contractors, subcontractors and site personnel to ensure work is executed effectively and efficiently.
  • Implement and monitor safety protocols to maintain a safe and compliant work environment, emphasizing FMCG standards.
  • Serve as the main point of contact for stakeholders, providing regular project updates, progress reports and issue escalation when needed.
  • Ensure all construction activities align with regulatory requirements, engineering standards and client specifications.
  • Lead site inspections, resolve technical issues and provide guidance to ensure quality workmanship.
  • Foster collaboration across cross-functional teams including engineering, procurement, safety and quality assurance.

Qualifications:

  • Licensed Civil Engineer or Architect.
  • Proven experience in project and construction management, preferably within FMCG greenfield projects.
  • Strong leadership skills with experience managing site teams and contractors.
  • Solid knowledge of construction methods, safety regulations and project management principles.
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work on-site full time and manage fast-paced, large-scale construction projects.
