We are seeking an experienced Automation Engineering Lead to spearhead the development of test automation frameworks, ensuring scalability and efficiency in our CI/CD pipeline.

This role requires expertise in Playwright, modern automation tools, and industry best practices. You will be responsible for architecting, implementing, and optimizing automation frameworks, mentoring engineers, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to embed automation into our DevOps strategy.

Your Responsibilities
  • Framework Development: Design and implement scalable, reusable automation frameworks using Playwright for end-to-end testing.
  • Test Architecture: Lead the evolution of test automation architecture, focusing on best-in-class design patterns, performance, and maintainability.
  • Automation Standards: Define and enforce automation standards, establishing a center of excellence for test automation practices.
  • Tool Evaluation: Conduct research and evaluation of cutting-edge tools to improve automation coverage, performance, and efficiency.
  • Mentorship: Act as a subject matter expert (SME) in Playwright and automation best practices, mentoring junior and mid-level engineers.
  • Strategic Guidance: Provide strategic guidance on test automation adoption across teams, influencing company-wide QA strategy.
  • Code Reviews: Conduct code reviews and establish best practices for automation test development.
  • Training Initiatives: Lead training initiatives for manual QA engineers transitioning to automation roles.
  • Efficient Testing: Develop, maintain, and optimize highly efficient automated test scripts for functional, regression, performance, and API testing.
  • CI/CD Integration: Ensure seamless integration of automated tests into the CI/CD pipeline, enabling continuous testing and deployment.
  • Cloud-Based Solutions: Implement parallel execution, distributed testing, and cloud-based automation solutions to improve test efficiency.
  • Collaboration: Collaborate with DevOps and Engineering teams to enhance test execution strategies and reporting.
  • Performance Testing: Write non-functional test scripts and execute, with good understanding of performance testing.
  • KPIs: Define and track automation KPIs, ensuring measurable improvements in test coverage, execution time, and defect detection.
  • Test Data Management: Establish and maintain test data management strategies for automated testing.
  • Shift-Left Testing: Drive adoption of shift-left testing, ensuring early-stage automation within the SDLC.
  • AI-Driven Automation: Implement AI-driven automation techniques to optimize test selection and execution.
  • Partnerships: Partner with Software Architects, Developers, Product Managers, and DevOps to drive quality-first development.
  • Agile Ceremonies: Actively participate in Agile ceremonies, advocating for automation-driven testing approaches.
