About the Role:

  • You will lead, mentor, and develop a team of 14 General Ledger Accountants.
  • Assign tasks, monitor performance, and provide regular feedback and coaching.
  • Foster a positive and collaborative team environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee daily GL operations, including month-end close activities, ensuring accuracy and compliance with established guidelines and policies.
  • Ensure preparation and delivery of accurate financial data and reports to internal customers.
  • Monitor and manage accounting processes, general ledger postings, payroll and benefits (where applicable), master data maintenance, and account reconciliations.
  • Review and approve complex journal entries and reconciliations.

Accounting Operations:

  • Oversee the preparation of reports required by local finance and Group Accounting.
  • Conduct financial analysis and support pre-audit tasks.
  • Ensure compliance with IFRS, GAAP, and tax regulations.

Leadership and Management:

  • Develop and implement process improvements to enhance GL operations.
  • Contribute to process excellence initiatives and operational performance reporting.
  • Identify and implement best practices to optimize efficiency and accuracy.

Collaboration and Communication:

  • Collaborate effectively with local entity finance to resolve issues and ensure smooth operations.
  • Communicate effectively with global teams.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field required.
  • Master's Degree in Finance/Accounting or CPA accreditation preferred.
  • Minimum of 5-8 years of progressive experience in General Ledger Accounting Operations, with demonstrated leadership experience.
  • Profound knowledge of accounting principles (IFRS, GAAP, Tax).
  • Experience working in a Shared Services Center environment preferred.
  • Strong proficiency with SAP or other ERP systems required.
  • Excellent English communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Amenable to work on-site in BGC, Taguig.
  • Willing to work on a mid-shift/night-shift schedule (Regular Schedule: 3 PM-12 AM, month-end: 9 PM – 6 AM).
  • Proven ability to manage and lead a team.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
