Our organization is seeking a highly skilled Senior Data Engineer to spearhead the development and maintenance of robust data pipelines, warehousing solutions, and cloud-based systems. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing and implementing scalable architectures that can handle large volumes of data in real-time.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Lead efforts to identify, recruit, and mentor new team members, fostering a collaborative work environment.
  • Create efficient batch and streaming data pipelines using Apache Airflow, Apache Kafka, and Apache Flink to process vast amounts of data.
  • Utilize Snowflake to construct reliable and scalable data warehousing solutions that meet our business needs.
  • Employ Amazon Web Services (AWS) or Google Cloud Platform (GCP) to build secure and high-performing cloud-based systems.
  • Improve Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment processes using tools like Jenkins and GitLab to automate development, testing, and deployment.
  • Oversee the maintenance and monitoring of various data applications, pipelines, and databases to ensure optimal performance.
Key Skills and Qualifications:
  • At least 5 years of experience in data engineering or similar fields.
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, mathematics, or a related technical field.
  • Proven ability to hire, mentor, and lead junior engineers.
  • Proficiency in Python with at least one data manipulation framework (e.g. Pandas, Dask, Pyspark) and SQL; knowledge of other languages like Java, C#, or C++ is advantageous.
  • Experience with REST APIs and building scalable API data platforms (e.g. FastAPI).
  • Experience with AWS, Snowflake, Kubernetes, and Airflow.
  • Understanding of ETL processes and event streaming technologies (such as Kafka, Flink, etc.).
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills to effectively interact with both business and technical teams.
