Job Title: Financial Operations Associate

This role involves managing the entire Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable process, ensuring timely and accurate account reconciliations. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in AP or AR, a Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance, and proficiency in Xero or similar accounting software.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Manage the AP/AR processes from start to finish, including receiving payments, processing invoices, and reconciling accounts.
  2. Ensure timely and accurate account reconciliations by verifying transactions, identifying discrepancies, and resolving issues promptly.
  3. Support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing activities by reviewing and preparing financial reports, reconciliations, and other documents.
  4. Maintain compliance with internal policies and external regulations, such as GAAP/IFRS, by staying up-to-date on changes and implementing new procedures as needed.
  5. Improve collection rates and optimize cash flow by analyzing accounts receivable, negotiating payment terms, and implementing cash flow management strategies.
  6. Collaborate with vendors, customers, and internal teams to resolve payment issues, respond to inquiries, and provide exceptional customer service.
  7. Analyze and generate reports, aging summaries, and key metrics to identify trends, track performance, and inform business decisions.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • At least 2 years of AP or AR experience with a proven track record of success.
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance with a strong foundation in accounting principles, financial analysis, and regulatory compliance.
  • Xero or similar accounting software proficiency, with experience using features such as invoicing, reconciliation, and reporting.
  • Strong Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, formulas, reports) with experience creating complex spreadsheets, dashboards, and charts.
  • Familiarity with audit prep, regulatory compliance (GAAP/IFRS), and cash flow forecasting, with experience staying up-to-date on industry developments and best practices.
