Job Title: Software Engineer

This is an exciting opportunity for a software engineer passionate about open-source software, Linux systems, software architectures and Go programming language.

The core Ubuntu system forms the base for the entire Ubuntu family of products and services. We build on the technical excellence of Debian and bring additional focus and shape to the solutions we offer the industry.

We are hiring a Software Engineer for Golang compiler, tooling, and ecosystem. The role entails collaborating proactively with a distributed team, selecting, integrating and packaging best-of-breed tooling with Ubuntu to improve developer and operator experience with Go.

Key responsibilities include writing high-quality code to create new features, debugging issues and producing high-quality code to fix them, reviewing code produced by other engineers, discussing ideas and collaborating on finding good solutions.

  • Experience in packaging software for Debian and Ubuntu
  • Long-time Linux user
  • Exceptional academic track record from both high school and university
  • Undergraduate degree in a technical subject or a compelling narrative about your alternative chosen path
