Cloud Support Engineer Job Description

As a Cloud Support Engineer at Canonical, you will play a vital role in delivering exceptional support to customers worldwide. This globally remote position requires a unique blend of technical expertise, problem-solving abilities, and excellent communication skills.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Investigate and resolve customer issues by researching and escalating matters as needed.
  • Collaborate with customers to provide timely and effective solutions, ensuring seamless communication and satisfaction.
  • Participate in a regular weekend working rotation to ensure 24/7 support coverage, guaranteeing that our customers receive uninterrupted assistance.
  • Contribute new knowledge base articles and maintain existing ones to share valuable insights and lessons learned with the team and customers alike.
Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Professional written and spoken English with exceptional presentation skills.
  • Exceptional academic track record from high school and university.
  • Undergraduate degree in a technical subject or an alternative path that demonstrates your dedication and passion for technology.
  • Proven track record of going above-and-beyond expectations to achieve outstanding results.
  • Hands-on experience in supporting Linux systems, including virtualization/cloud, containers, storage technologies, and networking.
  • Expertise in cloud computing, encompassing provisioning, monitoring, orchestration, and more.
  • Advanced troubleshooting experience, including navigating stack traces and logs, and advising on next steps.
  • Strong programming fundamentals in any language.
  • Extensive customer support experience, prioritizing customer needs, communicating professionally, and setting realistic expectations.
