About the Role

We are seeking a skilled professional to manage financial records, prepare reports, and assist with tax compliance on a remote basis.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Financial Management:
    • Prepare and maintain accurate financial records, including general ledger maintenance. Ensure data integrity and accuracy throughout the accounting process.
    • Assist in preparing financial statements such as income statements and balance sheets. Develop a strong understanding of financial analysis and reporting techniques.
    • Perform bank and credit card reconciliations to ensure that all financial transactions are properly recorded and accounted for.
  • Payroll Processing:
    • Process client payroll using tools like Gusto, ADP, or other payroll systems. Ensure timely and accurate processing of payroll information.
    • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations. Stay up-to-date with changes in tax laws and regulations that affect payroll processing.
    • Track and report employee benefits, deductions, and tax withholdings. Develop a strong understanding of payroll-related taxes and benefits.
  • Tax Compliance Support:
    • Preparing sales tax filings and corporate tax documentation. Ensure accurate and timely preparation of tax-related documents.
    • Ensure compliance with U.S. federal and state tax regulations. Stay informed about changes in tax laws and regulations that affect tax compliance.
    • Support year-end tax preparation in collaboration with clients' CPAs. Develop a strong understanding of tax planning and compliance strategies.
  • Accounts Payable/Receivable:
    • Manage and reconcile accounts payable and receivable. Ensure timely and accurate processing of financial transactions.
    • Process invoices, payments, and monitor cash flow. Develop a strong understanding of financial management and cash flow analysis.
  • Client Communication:
    • Collaborate with U.S.-based accounting firms to gather and verify financial and payroll information. Develop strong communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Address client inquiries and provide financial updates as needed. Ensure prompt and accurate response to client requests.
  • Process Improvement:
    • Identify and suggest improvements to enhance accounting and payroll workflows. Develop a strong understanding of process improvement techniques and best practices.
