Senior Financial Manager Job Description

We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled Senior Financial Manager to join our team. This individual will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of financial operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll management.

The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in financial management, reporting, and analysis, with the ability to drive financial strategy and provide executive-level insights to support business growth and decision-making.

This role is responsible for leading monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes with accuracy and timeliness, preparing and presenting comprehensive financial statements, management reports, and board-level presentations.

Additionally, this position will develop and maintain robust financial controls, policies, and procedures to ensure compliance and accuracy.

The Senior Financial Manager will also provide strategic financial analysis and recommendations to executive leadership, lead annual budgeting and forecasting processes, including variance analysis and performance metrics.

This role will drive process improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and scalability, ensuring seamless integration of inventory management, e-commerce platforms, and payment systems with the general ledger.

Our ideal candidate will have a proven track record of successful month-end and year-end close processes, strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with attention to detail, and excellent communication and presentation skills for executive-level reporting.

Please note that this is a remote position that requires alignment with Central Time business hours for collaboration with US-based team members.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversight of all aspects of financial operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll management.
  • Leadership of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes.
  • Preparation and presentation of comprehensive financial statements, management reports, and board-level presentations.
  • Development and maintenance of robust financial controls, policies, and procedures.
  • Strategic financial analysis and recommendations to executive leadership.
  • Annual budgeting and forecasting processes, including variance analysis and performance metrics.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required.
  • CPA certification strongly preferred.
  • Master's degree in Accounting, Finance, or MBA preferred.
  • Minimum 7-10 years of progressive accounting and finance experience.
  • At least 3-5 years in a Controller or senior financial management role.
  • Experience in e-commerce, retail, or inventory-based businesses strongly preferred.
  • Public accounting experience with Big 4 or mid-tier firms is a plus.
