Job Title: Digital Building Integration Specialist

Work Arrangement: Full-time remote position available for a Nightshift schedule (9pm-6am)


Job Description:
  • Deliver high-quality fault detection and diagnostics services to clients and partners.
  • Collaborate on onboarding projects, ensuring analytics meets timelines and milestones.
  • Conduct onboarding activities, including installing Data Collection Services and organizing tasks for Digital Building Engineers.
  • Troubleshoot Diagnostics for automated fault detection on customer's HVAC equipment.
  • Review and validate findings reported by software.

Core Responsibilities:
  1. Ensure timely delivery of high-quality fault detection and diagnostics services to clients and partners.
  2. Collaborate with the team to complete onboarding projects and ensure that analytics fulfills its role in a timely manner at a high level of quality.
  3. Conduct onboarding activities such as installing Data Collection Services, discovery of data, and organizing tasks for Digital Building Engineers.
  4. Help troubleshoot Diagnostics to perform automated fault detection on customers' HVAC equipment.
  5. Take requests to review the findings and validate the results reported by the software.
  6. Train and engage customer and partner users specific to the Data Transfer Service, data connectivity, and related networking issues.
  7. Provide ongoing support of connected sites.

Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Confident, self-motivated, and comfortable quickly grasping new technologies.
  • Effective communication with customers and partners.
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related technical field, or 5–6 years relevant industry experience.
  • 1–2 years hands-on experience in HVAC, controls, or fault detection and diagnostics.
  • Exposure to BAS protocols such as BACnet, Haystack, oBIX, and Modbus.
  • Exposure to BAS networking principles.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ideal candidate has exposure to automated ongoing commissioning, fault detection and diagnostics, performance measurement, and verification.
  • Ideal candidate has exposure to metadata applications such as use of tags and standards, e.g., Project Haystack.

The Ideal Candidate:
  1. Has a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or a related technical field and an interest in building systems, or significant field experience in a controls or services company serving the buildings industry.
  2. Has a certificate or equivalent experience in basic networking or computer fundamentals and is familiar with firewall, server, and basic networking commands.
  3. Quickly learns technical and engineering solutions thoroughly and strives to improve upon them.
  4. Effectively communicates technical information to customers over the phone and through emails.
  5. Manages multiple projects across different countries simultaneously.
  6. Is thorough and analytical with good attention to detail.
  7. Can creatively help streamline processes and find efficiencies for executing complex technical tasks.
  8. Effectively conveys product development ideas to leadership and product development teams.
  9. Comfortable working in a rapidly evolving environment where work processes are constantly being refined.
  10. Motivated about changing the built environment with innovative tools, technologies, and business models.
  11. Enjoys working in a close-knit, passionate environment where communication is key, and the learning experience is invaluable.
