Job Description

  • This role is responsible for leading the acquisition of land for renewable energy projects.
  • The successful candidate will manage a team and/or land contractors/service providers, designing and implementing land acquisition strategies and plans.
  • They will analyze, interpret, and communicate data, progress status, challenges, solutions, and strategies to the project team and other departments.
  • Key responsibilities include participating in planning, site assessment, strategic meetings, update and coordination sessions for renewable energy development.
  • Additional duties involve providing strategic insights, organizing pertinent information to support decision-making regarding growth and placement of SNAP's Renewable Energy Projects.
  • Stakeholder engagement is also a critical aspect, involving landowners, land brokers, local governments, regulatory agencies, and community organizations.
  • The position requires leading in negotiations and finalizing contracts for land acquisition or leasing, as well as preparing and drafting framework contracts with landowners.
  • This role also supports the Project Manager and project team in developing and constructing renewable energy projects by providing contiguous land along with land options and lease agreements.

Requirements

  • A minimum of 10-15 years' experience in land acquisition and management, stakeholder engagement and management, permitting process, and understanding of real estate, tax, accounting rules, with energy industry exposure and familiarity.
  • Preferably a licensed broker.

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in business, finance, accounting, law, real estate, or any other related course.
