Contract Negotiator Role Overview

The Contract Negotiator will oversee and manage contracts with external partners. Key responsibilities include reviewing contract terms, verifying scope coverage, and ensuring compliance.

  • Develop, review, and administer contracts to guarantee accuracy and adherence to project requirements.
  • Verify contract terms, scope coverage, and inclusions/exclusions to guarantee compliance with project specifications.
  • Compare contractor quotes and scopes for accurate evaluation and recommendations.
  • Maintain comprehensive records of contractor pricing and project-related documentation.
  • Provide regular progress updates and reporting to the Project Manager on contract status and variations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and maintain contracts with subcontractors and suppliers.
  • Review and verify contract terms, scope coverage, and inclusions/exclusions.
  • Compare contractor quotes and scopes for accurate evaluation.
  • Recommend solutions for discrepancies or gaps in contractor submissions.
  • Maintain thorough and accurate project records.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field such as Construction Management, Engineering, or Quantity Surveying.
  • 3–5 years of experience in contract administration or project support within the construction industry.
  • Proficiency in document management tools for drawing review, takeoffs, and documentation.
  • Strong understanding of contract terms, scopes, and construction documentation.
  • Ability to review and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
