Senior SMSF Accountant Job Description

This is a challenging and rewarding role that requires technical expertise in Superannuation Funds compliance, accounting experience within an Australian accounting firm, leadership skills to review and mentor junior SMSF accountants. We are looking for a Senior SMSF Accountant with extensive SMSF compliance and accounting knowledge.

  • Key Responsibilities:

  • To prepare and review Superannuation Fund financial statements, tax returns and compliance documentation

  • To manage complex fund transactions including pensions, contributions, investment portfolios, liaison with auditors to finalise Superannuation Fund compliance reviews

  • Supervise and mentor intermediate SMSF accountants

  • Provide technical support to client managers

Requirements

We are seeking a qualified and experienced professional with the following qualifications:

  • Minimum 5 years' SMSF accounting experience within an Australian accounting firm
  • In-depth knowledge of Superannuation Fund legislation, SIS Act, and ATO requirements
  • Experience with Class Super, BGL, or other Superannuation Fund administration software
  • Strong review and supervisory skills
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities
