Job Overview

The Construction Estimator plays a pivotal role in defining the project management team's understanding of construction costs through detailed estimates of the scope of work.

Key Responsibilities
  • Gather and organize project information to identify missing or conflicting scope/detail, ensuring seamless project execution.
  • Perform quantity takeoffs using On Screen Takeoff or Bluebeam software, accurately estimating materials and labor requirements.
  • Assist with construction document/plan/spec review, redlining, and requests for information, fostering effective communication among team members.
  • Estimate components of the scope of work, such as material, labor, and equipment, required to complete projects using Microsoft Excel, streamlining project planning.
  • Maintain open communication with the project management team, building rapport and trust through proactive collaboration.
  • Work with the team to review and finalize takeoff data, ensuring accuracy and completeness in project estimates.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Degree in construction, engineering, business management/finance/accounting, or similar fields, preferred for successful candidates.
  • Knowledge of commercial construction components and their construction methods, essential for effective project estimation.
  • Experience working with U.S.-based clients, a plus for applicants.
  • Proficiency with electronic takeoff software, AutoCAD, Revit, Civil 3D, Planswift, and Microsoft Office Suite, crucial for efficient project execution.
  • Critical thinking, problem-solving, multitasking, and effective communication skills, necessary for success in this role.
