Senior QA Automation Engineer Job Description

This is a leadership position within the quality assurance team. The Senior QA Automation Engineer will be responsible for leading and mentoring team members, as well as owning delivery and quality efforts.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with leads on testing approaches impacting teams
  • Communicate with management and delivery leads
  • Presents test solutions to cross-functional groups
  • Represent technical areas and IT in enhancements and projects
  • Owning the triage process
  • Acting as Regression Coordinator across teams
  • Ensure adherence to IT principles and values
  • Monitor Delivery Team metrics and drive improvements
  • Drive innovation suggestions and ensure follow-through
  • Provide coaching and guidance to junior members
  • Offer out-of-hours support for incidents
  • Coordinate test efforts with stakeholders
  • Contribute to performance feedback
  • Participate in technical analysis and design review sessions
  • Lead bug and metric review meetings
Manual Testing Skills:
  • Monitoring test coverage and initiating reviews as required
  • Designing test implementation and producing supporting documentation
  • Reviewing test approach to identify issues and drive improvements
  • Independently leading multiple project deliveries
  • Contributing to test coverage reviews
  • Organizing regression activity and owning status reporting
  • Leading large project delivery with minimal support
Automation Expertise:
  • Conducting regular peer reviews and source control approvals
  • Maintaining, updating, and fixing CI Implementation and implementing process improvements in CI Architecture
  • Consolidating CI Execution Results and communicating issues to stakeholders
  • Engaging in discussions with stakeholders regarding automation coverage and new opportunities
  • Adapting to different test automation technologies and leading proof of concept initiatives
  • Mentoring junior resources on implementing test automation and sharing best practices
  • Contributing to overall architecture of the automation framework and seeking process improvements
  • Driving self-improvement as SME for test automation and contributing to developing team members
Requirements:
  • 5+ years of experience in application QA/testing
  • 2+ years of QA leadership experience
  • SFDC background is a must
  • Experience with SFDC test automation tools
  • Knowledge of manual and automated testing practices
  • Ability to ensure accountability and communicate effectively with diverse teams
  • Proven record of driving results and engagement while supporting team objectives
  • Expertise in creating, planning, and executing test strategies and test plans
Desirable Skills:
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelining for deployment
  • Hands-on experience with QA tools like Provar and automation frameworks
  • Exposure to performance testing and monitoring
