Job Overview

The Jewelry Production Manager oversees the entire manufacturing and production process of fine or fashion jewelry, ensuring a seamless end-to-end experience. This role requires a highly organized and experienced professional with expertise in jewelry manufacturing, vendor coordination, materials sourcing, and production workflow management.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee daily production operations, guaranteeing quality control and timely order fulfillment.
  • Manage production schedules, allocate workloads, and track progress across internal teams and external manufacturers.
  • Coordinate with designers, CAD teams, bench jewelers, casters, and stone setters to bring designs to life.
  • Source and manage relationships with material suppliers and subcontractors (casting, polishing, plating, etc.).
  • Maintain detailed production documentation including BOMs (Bill of Materials), cost sheets, and timelines.
  • Implement and enforce quality control standards across all stages of production.
  • Forecast inventory needs and ensure all necessary materials (metals, stones, findings) are procured on time.
  • Troubleshoot production issues, minimize delays, and optimize efficiency and cost.
  • Collaborate with sales, merchandising, and logistics teams to align production with customer demand and seasonal launches.
  • Maintain compliance with ethical and sustainability standards in materials and labor, where applicable.
Qualifications
  • Prior experience (3+ years) in jewelry production or manufacturing management is essential.
  • A strong understanding of jewelry materials, processes (casting, stone setting, polishing), and supply chain is crucial.
  • Familiarity with CAD/CAM and jewelry design software is advantageous.
  • Proven vendor and supplier management skills are required.
  • Detailed-oriented professionals with a passion for craftsmanship and quality are ideal candidates.
  • Experience communicating with factories is beneficial.
  • Understanding how to read a CAD blueprint is a valuable skill.
  • Knowledge of diamonds is a plus.
