Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled Financial Controller to oversee our entire financial accounting function. As part of our corporate team, you will take ownership of end-to-end general ledger processes, including accounts payable/receivable, payroll, journal entries, and reconciliations.

This role is completely remote, offering the flexibility to work from home. You will work closely with our leadership team in Australia, including our Chief Financial Officer (CFO), to provide critical financial insights that drive our business forward.

Key responsibilities include leading monthly project costing, departmental reporting, and managing all Research and Development (R&D) tax rebate submissions. Additionally, you will be responsible for enhancing our financial systems by driving continuous improvement of our financial policies and procedures.

As the primary point of contact for external auditors, tax advisors, and consultants, you will ensure all financial reporting is accurate and timely.

Required Skills and Qualifications
  • A highly capable and experienced finance professional with a strong background supporting Australian businesses.
  • Bachelor's degree in commerce and/or accounting and Certified Public Accountant (CPA) qualification or equivalent.
  • Existing Financial Controller or Finance Manager with 10+ years of experience supporting an Australian-based business (preferably with operations internationally).
  • Strong working knowledge of Australian payroll and Goods and Services Tax (GST) legislation.
  • Proven experience managing offshore teams and building relationships with stakeholders across a business, along with the management of external auditors and tax consultants.
  • Experience/comfortable working in a fast-moving start-up/scale-up environment.
