Editorial Event Coordinator

We're looking for an experienced and detail-oriented professional to support our special coverage team in creating impactful live journalism events, podcasts, and other digital content around critical global convenings.

About the Role
  • You will collaborate with the Senior Editor for Special Coverage to shape how we show up to and cover key moments in global development, to include special edition newsletters, podcasts, and live events.
  • Conduct research to explore issues that matter to our community, help develop ideas for interviews or panels, and identify innovators and thought leaders to feature in our events and podcasts.
  • Help bring issues to life onstage by identifying and recommending speakers who can make complex challenges in global development accessible to our audience.
  • Manage speaker correspondence, handle communications with a robust roster of speakers, and prepare event and podcast materials briefs.
  • Provide strategic support to the senior editor and executive editor, seeking and managing external speaking and moderation opportunities, coordinating logistics and scheduling, and developing presentations.
Requirements
  • You possess strong editorial judgment, a keen sense for what matters to global development audiences, and experience editing and curating content that resonates.
  • Your interpersonal skills are top-notch, you build strong relationships with internal teams and external stakeholders, and know how to instill confidence in high-profile speakers.
  • You have at least 3-5 years of experience in journalism, editorial content creation, and/or event management.
  • Your writing and editing skills are top-notch, clear, and concise.
  • You excel at juggling multiple priorities with exceptional attention to detail.
  • You navigate the English language with fluency (written and spoken).
  • A Bachelor's degree in journalism, communications, or a related field is ideal.
