About the Role
  • We are seeking a highly detail-oriented and organized Tax Associate to join our Specialty Tax team.
  • This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals who want to build their skills and make a meaningful impact in the field of taxation.

In this role, you will be responsible for preparing and filing state and local sales tax returns with accuracy and attention to detail. You will also conduct research on various indirect tax matters, including nexus and state filing requirements.

You will have the opportunity to work effectively in a remote team environment, using your excellent communication skills to respond to notices received and participate in sales tax reviews.

We are looking for a quick learner who can adapt to a fast-paced setting and has proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.).

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare and file state and local sales tax returns with accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Conduct research on various indirect tax matters, including nexus and state filing requirements.
  • Respond to notices received and participate in sales tax reviews.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by senior management.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Accountancy or related field.
  • 1-2 years of experience related to tax and/or accounting.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a remote team environment.
  • A quick learner who can adapt to a fast-paced setting.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.).
  • Data-conscious individual willing to learn how systems/software integrate and produce information to verify data or identify anomalies.
  • Proven track record of working independently with a strong sense of ownership.
  • Responsible and reliable, capable of maintaining individual production while fostering a team atmosphere.
  • Possess deductive reasoning and a growth mindset.
  • Open to embracing new challenges and devising innovative solutions.
