Finance Assistant

Job Description

As a Finance Assistant, you will be responsible for managing financial records, preparing financial reports, and processing accounts payable and receivable. You will also assist in maintaining payroll records and ensuring compliance with tax and employment laws.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Process and manage accounts payable and receivable, ensuring accuracy and timeliness
  2. Maintain financial records and ensure proper documentation of transactions
  3. Prepare financial reports, budgets, and forecasts for senior management on a weekly basis or as required
  4. Process invoices, payments, and receipts in accordance with company policies
  5. Process payroll, ensuring accurate calculation of wages, superannuation, and entitlements
  6. Maintain payroll records and ensure compliance with tax and employment laws
  7. Assist with employee reimbursements and benefits processing
  8. Provide support to HR regarding payroll-related inquiries
  9. Maintain financial documentation and records in an organised and accessible manner
Requirements
  • At least 1 year or more experience in data entry, administration, and general accounting
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite, particularly Excel, and any accounting software
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
  • Experience working with secure financial record systems, and an awareness of maintaining strong cyber security protocols
  • A diploma in Bookkeeping, Business Administration, or a related field or relevant experience
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to enter high volumes of data with accuracy and minimal errors
  • Excellent organisational and time management abilities
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to liaise with diverse stakeholders
