Shopify Web Developer (Project-based)

Job Description

This project involves building a new Shopify site aligned with brand guidelines using an appropriate theme. The scope includes migrating content from the old site, implementing light automations and UI improvements. The expected engagement is approximately 2–3 weeks at 20 hours per week.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Build a new Shopify site that meets brand guidelines.
  • Transfer and organize content from the previous website, including pages, FAQs, sponsor highlights, and event details.
  • Configure navigation, collections, and essential pages for clarity and ease of use.
  • Set up reliable automations tied to key site actions.
  • Configure basic integrations to reduce manual processes.
  • Document automation flows for easy client handoff.
  • Apply design improvements that increase readability and conversion without overcomplicating the build.
  • Optimize page layouts for event highlights, sponsors, FAQs, and calls-to-action.
  • Ensure consistent styling aligned with brand tone.
  • Test cross-browser/mobile responsiveness, page speed basics, forms, and checkout/app flows.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Proven expertise in Shopify with a portfolio showcasing live Shopify builds.
  • End-to-end website creation experience, including theme setup and go-live.
  • Hands-on experience implementing simplified automations within a Shopify context.
  • Strong front-end skills for customization and troubleshooting.
  • Availability for a 2–3 week, project-based engagement at 20 hours per week.
