Financial Director Opportunity

We are seeking a skilled Financial Director to lead our finance function, drive clarity and discipline in financial systems, and support profitable growth.

About the Role

This is a key leadership position that will be responsible for taking ownership of the finance function, streamlining monthly close and cash forecasting, and delivering actionable performance insights to guide business decisions. The ideal candidate will have experience in building scalable finance systems and strategic reporting processes.

Responsibilities:
  • Primary Objectives 20% – These must be done first and at all costs.
  • Deliver accurate and insightful financials by executing a standardized monthly close process, ensuring zero material errors, and producing clear reporting.
  • Maintain and optimize cash flow strategy by managing a weekly-updated rolling cash forecast, ensuring liquidity, and implementing optimal float strategies.
  • Lead budgeting and forecasting across the business by planning and launching the annual budgeting cycle, aligning department budgets with growth targets, and finalizing plans by a specific date.
  • Build scalable financial systems and operational workflows by documenting core finance processes and implementing streamlined systems for expense approvals, reimbursements, and company card usage.

Regular Work Activities 80% – These must be done ongoing daily/weekly after the BIG ROCKS are complete.

  • Manage accounts receivable and payable by ensuring timely invoicing, collections, and payments.
  • Monitor daily cash positions, maintain liquidity, and oversee use of credit float strategies.
  • E nsure GAAP compliance, manage internal controls, and lead external audit preparation.
  • Oversee payroll and benefits administration for accuracy, timeliness, and legal compliance.
  • Promote tax compliance by overseeing accurate and timely sales tax filings and payroll tax submissions.
  • Optimize financial tools to streamline workflows and reduce manual work.
  • Reconcile inventory regularly and validate COGS entries in partnership with operations.
  • Provide financial analysis to support key business decisions and capital planning.
  • Cross-functional collaboration to assess financial impact and support growth initiatives.
  • Maintain dashboards and scorecards to ensure visibility into performance.
  • Identify opportunities to delegate transactional tasks and support the development of future finance capabilities.
