Our organization is seeking a skilled professional to fill the position of Tax Strategist. As a Tax Strategist, you will be responsible for providing expert tax advice to clients and ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local tax laws.

Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Prepare and review U.S. individual, corporate, and partnership tax returns, utilizing in-depth knowledge of tax codes and regulations.
  • Offer strategic guidance on tax planning, compliance, and structuring matters to help clients achieve their financial goals.
  • Represent clients before the IRS in audits, appeals, and collection cases, leveraging expertise and negotiation skills to resolve disputes.
  • Assist in preparing responses to IRS notices and handling tax controversy matters, ensuring timely and accurate filings.
  • Evaluate tax implications of business decisions and provide recommendations to ensure optimal financial outcomes.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to address tax-related issues and develop effective solutions.
  • Stay up-to-date with U.S. tax laws, international tax treaties, and IRS updates, applying this knowledge to drive informed decision-making.
  • Support junior staff or tax associates as needed, sharing expertise and mentoring to foster growth and development.

Requirements:

  • Must be an Enrolled Agent (EA) with current IRS credentials.
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • A minimum of 4 years of experience in U.S. tax preparation and consulting, with a proven track record of delivering results.
  • Strong understanding of U.S. tax codes, especially for individuals and small businesses, with the ability to apply this knowledge in complex scenarios.
  • Experience with tax software and tools, including proficiency in accounting systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Familiarity with FATCA, FBAR, and foreign asset reporting requirements.
