Job Title: Treasury Assistant

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Treasury Assistant. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing cash management functions, assisting with corporate financial tasks, and monitoring the mortgage schedule.

  • This role involves determining daily operating cash needs and working with banks for investment or borrowing.
  • The ideal candidate will assist in cash management, including fund transfers, electronic payments, and determining borrowing needs.
  • As a liaison between the organization and financial institutions on bank accounts, you will ensure seamless communication and timely transactions.
  • You will also prepare daily and long-range cash flow spreadsheets, monitor and update bank account signatory lists, and review analysis statements.
  • In addition, you will maintain and oversee databases used in Cash Management and Treasury, assist with other projects in Cash Management, Treasury, and Finance, and help implement new technology for process improvement.
Requirements:
  • A bachelor's degree in Accounting, Economics, or Finance is preferred but not required.
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) certification is an asset.
  • You should have a strong understanding of accounting principles, financial statements, and investment analysis related to Treasury functions.
  • Exceptional organizational skills, a detail-oriented mindset, and a sense of urgency are essential for this role.
  • A strong work ethic and the ability to work extended hours are necessary to meet the demands of this position.

Experience Required:

  • At least 3-5 years of progressive experience in Corporate Treasury is preferred.
  • Knowledge of general accounting procedures like accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger posting is an advantage.
