The Gale Account Manager role at Cengage Learning Asia Pte Ltd presents a compelling opportunity for sales professionals to join a world-leading provider of research resources. In this position, you will sell and promote Gale subscription and eBook products to librarians and academic faculty members, providing after-sales support as required.

You will be based in our Manila head office, reporting to the Sales and Marketing Director, Gale – ANZ and SEA. Regular country travel is an integral part of this role, with some weekend work expected. To succeed in this position, you should have at least 2 years' experience in sales or marketing, preferably in Higher Education or the Library market.

Responsibilities:

  • Cover librarian, faculty, department chairs, deans, school administrators to find/profile research and teaching requirements.
  • Match research and teaching requirements, establish trials and close/confirm sales and subscriptions for the local distributor to order.
  • Coordinate the sales with the local distributors for order taking.
  • Synchronize trials and/or promotion, coordinate adoptions with distributors.
  • Update customers on the upcoming new resources and coordinate with the local distributor for promotion.
  • Develop and manage key accounts and prospects as required.
  • Sales lead follow-up.
  • Participate in industry events.
  • Understand the competitors in market.
  • Communicate product information to customers and agents.
  • Come up with opportunities in respective accounts covered to increase business.
  • Attend regular in-house trainings.
  • Regularly demonstrate products.
  • Coordinate customer support and service as required.
