Dental Operations Specialist

The Dental Billing Expert plays a pivotal role in guiding upskilling, ensuring seamless billing operations and training sessions. This professional must have mastery of dental billing workflows, a commitment to clinical excellence and passion for teaching.
Key Responsibilities- Teach billing processes including insurance verification, CDT coding, claims, EOBs and denials.
- Develop live and recorded sessions focused on payer logic, billing documentation and audit-readiness.
- Facilitate mock scenarios to deepen system familiarity and code accuracy.
- Conduct skills evaluations to assess system use, billing logic and knowledge gaps.
- Monitor trainee progress through various tools and platforms.
- Lead recovery training for team members returning to the system with billing gaps.
- Escalate retraining needs with structured feedback.
- Help develop micro-modules on denials, CDT updates and workflow corrections.
- Recommend updates to training content based on performance data and business needs.
- Answer learner questions around codes, payer rules and patient communication.
- Deliver coaching on tone and clarity in billing notes.
- Identify common misunderstandings and flag them for review.
- At least 3 years of U.S.-based dental billing experience with hands-on claim workflows.
- Advanced knowledge of CDT codes, AR follow-up, appeals and U.S. dental software standards.
- Experience leading live trainings, conducting skills evaluations and delivering practical coaching.
- Familiarity with HIPAA and ledger accuracy standards.
- Working knowledge of relevant software systems.
