Revenue Analyst Job Description

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Revenue Analyst to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5 years of relevant industry accounting or audit experience, including 2-3 years of revenue accounting experience and working knowledge of revenue recognition guidance (ASC 606 or IFRS 15).

The Revenue Analyst will be responsible for tasks related to revenue recognition. This individual will play a key role in ensuring accurate revenue and accounting data reporting as part of the monthly revenue close process.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Ensure all revenue is accounted for in accordance with company policies and accounting guidelines, including ASC 606.
  • Review the completeness and accuracy of data in the revenue system (RevPro).
  • Determine and process appropriate contract updates, revenue adjustments, and other journal entries in the revenue system.
  • Operate and oversee revenue-related internal controls.
  • Perform significant Excel analysis and manipulation of data to support the monthly close process and other close tasks.
  • Prepare deal reviews and checklists to ensure revenue is being recognized in adherence to ASC 606 and company policy.
  • Prepare analysis and journal entries as necessary to support the month-end close process.
  • Conduct ad hoc analysis and assist in audit requirements.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Highly organized with great attention to detail.
  • Ability to interact effectively with sales and product teams, functional peer groups, and subordinates.
  • Confidence and proven record to communicate both orally and written, including the dissemination of technical information.
  • Ability to work independently and take ownership of multiple concurrent and diversified tasks, while working with deadlines.
