Commercial Lines Insurance Specialist

Serving as a key team member in the Commercial Lines Department, you will be responsible for educating current clients and attracting new ones. This role requires strong knowledge of Property & Casualty (P&C) insurance policies, coverages, and products.


Responsibilities:
  • Providing proposals for agency producers
  • Quoting policies with top-rated carriers in the industry
  • Maintaining up-to-date knowledge of products and markets
  • Focusing on client retention and sales growth by cross-selling and expanding existing accounts
  • Service existing clients in person, by email, or via telephone
  • Quote and issue new policies

Requirements:

Insurance Knowledge & Experience

  • 5-7 years of experience in Commercial Lines Insurance
  • Strong understanding of P&C insurance policies, coverages, and products
  • Familiarity with the operations of an Independent Insurance Agency
Customer Service & Communication Skills
  • Excellent spoken and written English skills
  • Experience handling customer inquiries, policy changes, and claims assistance
  • Ability to professionally manage and respond to phone calls and emails
Sales & Upselling Abilities
  • Ability to recognize opportunities for cross-selling or upselling policies
Administrative & Process-Oriented Skills
  • Ability to manage Certificates of Insurance (COI), Evidence of Property Insurance (EOP), and Homeowners Insurance documentation
Technical & System Proficiency
  • Experience with agency management systems
  • Proficiency in office software (Microsoft Office, Google Workspace)
Time Management & Organization
  • Ability to accurately process multiple tasks under deadlines
Professionalism & Work Ethic
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Ability to maintain a professional demeanor in all interactions
