Open Source Support Specialist

We are seeking an experienced Open Source Support Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our support team, you will be responsible for providing technical assistance to customers utilizing our open source products.

  • About the Role:
  • This is a unique opportunity to work with a leading provider of open source software and operating systems. Our platform, Ubuntu, is widely used in breakthrough enterprise initiatives such as public cloud, data science, AI, engineering innovation, and IoT.
  • Our customers include leading public cloud and silicon providers, and industry leaders in many sectors.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Provide expert-level technical support to customers leveraging our open source products.
  2. Triage complex cloud environments, desktop, and server issues, Linux kernel crashes, and OS configuration issues.
  3. Conduct root cause analysis and provide resolutions to customer problems.
  4. Collaborate with senior engineers and other team members to ensure seamless delivery of technical support services.
  5. Maintain accurate records of customer interactions and technical issues resolved.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, MIS, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex technical issues.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with experience working with diverse teams and customers.
  • Proficiency in Linux troubleshooting, including collecting logs and stack traces, and fine-tuning by editing configuration files.
  • Experience with networking concepts, virtualization/cloud computing, and programming fundamentals.
