Job Overview

We are seeking a seasoned leader to oversee the growth and development of our engineering team. The Cloud Engineering Manager will be responsible for managing engineers who oversee day-to-day managed services of customer environments, including customer service management, managed services operations, and consistent product improvement engineering.

This role entails:

  • Managing a growing engineering team to optimize quality and velocity of both development and operations
  • Identifying and measuring team health indicators
  • Implementing disciplined engineering and operations processes
  • Representing the team with stakeholders, customers, and external teams
  • Ensuring proper team focus on priorities, milestones, and deliverables
  • Working to meet service level agreements with customer deployments around the globe
Key Responsibilities

The Cloud Engineering Manager will be responsible for:

  • Developing and implementing strategic plans to drive business growth
  • Mentoring and coaching team members to improve skills and performance
  • Fostering a culture of innovation and collaboration within the team
  • Providing technical guidance and support to team members as needed
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to achieve business objectives
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in a technology field or equivalent experience
  • Proven track record of professional experience in software delivery or managing operations teams
  • Proven experience with OpenStack
  • Demonstrated strong commitment to testing methodologies and maintainable code quality
  • Experience with Linux system administration, Ubuntu/Debian a plus
  • Strong communication and cooperation skills
  • Experience with agile software development methodologies
  • Experience working in and managing distributed teams
  • Technical aptitude for understanding complex distributed systems
  • Experience with cloud topologies and technologies
