Estimator Job Description

As an Estimator at Australian Outsource Desk Inc., you will play a crucial role in preparing tender submissions for allocated work, engaging with specialist subcontractors, and establishing resources required for each project.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Preparation of tender submissions for all allocated work
  • Engaging with specialist subcontractors, suppliers, and trade suppliers to ensure competitive and accurate tender submissions
  • Establishing the resources required for each project
  • Measuring and take-offs from drawings to build-up of tender price from first principles based on plans, programme, and scope of works
  • Cost planning and producing bills-of-quantities
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Quantity Surveying, or related field
  • Minimum of 1-3 years of experience in estimating for construction projects, preferably in the Australian market
  • Strong understanding of construction processes, materials, and costs
  • Proficiency in estimation software (e.g., Build Soft Cubit, Buildertrend, Bluebeam, Estimator Platinum) and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Attention to detail and high level of accuracy
  • Knowledge of Australian building codes and standards
