Linux System Engineer

Job Description:
- This role involves collaborating with customers to gather requirements and clarify our technology.
- You will participate in the delivery of select projects related to Embedded Linux, convey market requirements to key stakeholders, and contribute to the development or refinement of generic solutions to unlock market potential.
As an Embedded Linux Specialist at Canonical, you will work closely with our customers to understand their needs and provide tailored solutions. You will be responsible for engaging with customers during presales, elaborating solutions to be proposed to prospective clients, and participating in the delivery of select projects related to Embedded Linux.
You will also be expected to convey market requirements to key stakeholders and contribute to the development or refinement of generic solutions to unlock market potential. Additionally, you will be a customer advocate and a trusted advisor to us.
We are looking for candidates who are accomplished Linux professionals with proficiency in distribution packaging, software design, system debugging, and bringing customer ideas to life. If you are passionate about Linux and know the plumbing of the OS inside and out, this may be a uniquely exciting opportunity.
Key Responsibilities- Engage customers during presales to gather requirements and explain our technology.

- Fluent in Mandarin and willing to travel to China regularly.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related technical field.
- Extensive Linux experience – Debian or Ubuntu preferred.
- Distribution/Packaging experience (deb, rpm, ...).
- Solid embedded Linux experience (Yocto, Buildroot...).
- Fluency in at least one of Golang, Python, C, C++, or Rust.
- Professional written and spoken English in addition to the local language.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Result-oriented, ability to multi-task.
- A personal drive to meet commitments; humble learner and quick study.
- Willing to travel up to 30% of the time for customer meetings, company events, and conferences.
