Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Billing Representative to join our team at Fair Trade Outsourcing. As a Medical Billing Representative, you will be responsible for posting payments received from insurance companies, cash payments, and payment plans to the patient's accounts.

You will enter adjustments, write-offs, and reconcile the patient's accounts, reviewing claims for non-payment and resubmitting claims with corrected codes. You will also submit secondary claims and mail statements for co-pays and balances due on the account.

In addition, you will process refunds and check requests, perform account clean-up, and serve as a resource to medical practices to improve billing processes and accuracy. You will call resident physicians for confirmation of information.

  • Responsibilities:
  • Upload insurance card images and patient information into EHR, AMD.
  • Escalate missing card information to Mindful Support Services team for follow-up and acquisition.
  • Process and audit patient intake documents and enter data into EHR, AMD.
  • Ensure all patients have submitted required documentation prior to their scheduled appointment.
  • Review spreadsheet log of patients with due payment for Telehealth services.
  • Examine visits to be charged.
  • Look up chart number and cross-reference.
  • Process payment and update status of record.
  • Confirm patient and any dependent's information.
  • Verify insurance carrier, policy and group number, and employer.
  • Tax ID and office address, where applicable.
  • Enter information into EHR and escalate missing information.
