Job Overview

This role focuses on optimizing the financial operations and closing processes. The ideal candidate should have expertise in accounting principles, including financial statements, and a strong understanding of general ledger management.

The successful candidate will be responsible for performing month-end close finance operations, including account reconciliations and identifying control gaps in the process. They will also be required to implement key controls where necessary and ensure all processes and controls are adequately documented.

Furthermore, the candidate will need to liaise with the Technology team to ensure all accounting systems issues are logged and closed out in an appropriate timeframe. Additionally, they will provide accounting guidance on relevant topics and update accounting papers/guidance as necessary.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform month end close finance operations, including the checking of financial transactions and payments in the ledger as well as account reconciliations
  • Identify and execute improvements/automation of the month end close processes
  • Identify control gaps in the process and implement key controls where necessary
  • Ensure all processes and controls are adequately documented
  • Liaise with the Technology team to ensure all accounting systems issues are logged and closed out in an appropriate timeframe
  • From time to time, provide accounting guidance on relevant topics and update accounting papers/guidance as necessary
Requirements

The ideal candidate should possess at least a Bachelor's/College Degree in Financial Management, Economics, Accounting or other related business course. They must also have familiarity with Credit and Loan Products, minimum 3 years experience working in a company performing investment banking Functions and a strong understanding of general accounting principles including financial statements.

Additionally, the candidate should have excellent English, verbal and written communication skills, keen attention to details, computer and internet proficiency and be able to work with minimal supervision. They should also be highly organized and able to deliver high quality output, prioritize activities effectively and be proactive, motivated, detail-oriented and a team player.
