Job Title: Healthcare Liaison
">Role Description:
Overview of the PositionThe role of a Healthcare Liaison involves addressing patient inquiries and concerns, understanding their needs by actively listening and interviewing them, and coordinating information among patients, family members, medical personnel, and administrative staff.
As a liaison, one must be familiar with facility policies and procedures, medical resources, and medical regulations to effectively support patient health care treatment.
Key Responsibilities- Answer incoming calls according to established procedure and departmental standards.
- Assist patients in resolving their queries and concerns.
- Collect patients' outstanding balances in a timely and professional manner.
- Support third-party entities, such as insurance providers, with questions regarding patients' accounts.
- Make outbound collection calls according to established procedure and departmental standards.
- Provide assistance to patients in their billing queries and concerns.
- Maintain confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA guidelines by safeguarding protected health information within the scope of the position's duties and responsibilities.
- Function as a team player and demonstrate support for department and company goals and policies.
- Ensure good attendance and punctuality, returning from breaks in a timely manner.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
- Preferably a college graduate or at least two years of college education, with degrees and courses related to the medical field being advantageous.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential.
- Ability to work effectively with minimal supervision and maintain confidentiality when dealing with sensitive information.
- Able to perform simple mathematical calculations and prioritize tasks efficiently.
- Detail-oriented and proficient in the use of email.
- Highly motivated self-starter with organizational skills, able to set priorities and meet deadlines.
- Dependable and reliable, with a strong sense of teamwork and commitment to department and company goals and policies.
- Must be flexible with scheduling requirements.
- At least one year of experience in a call center environment related to medical accounts and programs is desirable.
