Australian GST & BAS Bookkeeper Role

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced bookkeeper to play a critical role in our finance operations. This position ensures the accurate processing of financial transactions and compliance with Australian accounting standards, including GST and BAS requirements.

The ideal candidate will be confident working with Xero, reconciling payments from platforms such as EasyDebit and Stripe, and maintaining the fixed asset register.

  • Manage accounts payable, including invoice receipt, coding, and submission for further processing.
  • Perform bank reconciliations and ensure all transactions are accurately coded in Xero.
  • Reconcile batch payments from clients via payment gateways such as EasyDebit, Stripe, and Square.
  • Monitor accounts receivable and payable, ensuring timely payment processing.

Key Requirements:

  • 2–3 years of bookkeeping experience, preferably within an Australian business environment.
  • Strong working knowledge of Xero.
  • Solid understanding of Australian GST, BAS, and accounting compliance.

Additional qualifications include:

  • Certificate IV in Bookkeeping or Accounting (or equivalent).
