Job Title: Senior Financial Manager

This role is responsible for overseeing the organization's financial operations, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and providing strategic financial guidance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Financial Management & Compliance: Manage payroll, superannuation, and oversee timely settlement of tax liabilities. Ensure accurate bill approvals and tax obligations are met.
  • Accounts Receivable & Invoicing: Monitor accounts receivable, follow up on payments, and ensure accurate invoicing practices.
  • Expense Monitoring & Financial Oversight: Track spending, adhere to budgets, investigate transactions, and oversee cash flow and liabilities effectively.
  • Bookkeeping Support & Coordination: Provide transaction data to bookkeepers, ensure account reconciliation, and respond to financial inquiries in a timely manner.
  • Reporting & Communication: Prepare financial reports for informed decision-making and provide insightful financial analysis.

Requirements:

  • A Chartered Accountant (CA) or Certified Practising Accountant (CPA) qualification is highly regarded.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a senior financial role, preferably in non-profit or community organizations.
  • Strong knowledge of Australian financial regulations, including ATO, superannuation, ASIC, and ACNC frameworks.
  • Experience in financial planning, analysis, reporting, and policy development is essential.
  • Proficiency in Xero, Microsoft Excel/Google Sheets, and Salesforce is required.
  • Strong leadership skills, results-driven approach, and team-building abilities are necessary.
  • High ethics and integrity are expected, with a commitment to the organization's mission.
